Recognising that transformative change does not always have the requisite market driver, we established the Disaster Research Foundation as a 501c3 Nonprofit. This enables the commitment of resources necessary to solve the truly difficult challenges faced by the Emergency Management community.

2017 Set a Record for Losses From Natural Disasters. It Could Get Worse.

Every year, the United States foots a multi-billion dollar bill for the economic and insured losses incurred from natural disasters.

Insured losses from weather-related disasters were at a high, making up most of the $135 billion. Munich Re executives warned that losses would continue to escalate.
